Usage analytics & privacy

LivingScene sends us feature-level usage events so we can see which features help and which get in the way. Here is exactly where the line sits.

What the app shares

Each event records something that happened — a scene was presented, an AI edit ran, a deck was opened — along with:

• When it happened, and, for events that measure one, how long it took
• A random install identifier and a per-session identifier
• Your account identifier, when you're signed in
• A random identifier for the deck involved, where an event concerns one
• The app version, and whether it's a released build or a development one
• Your device’s platform, architecture, operating-system version, and language settings

The deck identifier is a random value with nothing of your deck in it — not its title, not its contents, not where it sits on your disk. It lets us tell "one deck was opened forty times" from "forty decks were opened once". It is stripped out of any scene file you share, so a deck you hand to someone else never carries yours.

Events about a deck also carry counts — how many scenes it has, and how many were added or removed by an edit — and a session records how long the app was actually being used rather than merely open.

For AI edits, the rest is numbers: token counts, the computed cost, the model used, how long it took, how many exchanges it needed, and how many scenes it touched.

If the app hits an error, the report is scrubbed before it's sent — file paths are removed and only a short summary of the error is kept.

What it never shares

• The content of your decks or scenes
• Deck or scene titles
• Anything you type or say to the AI
• Your files, or the paths to your files

Scene files you share with other people also have their internal identifiers stripped, so a shared file can't be tied back to your library or your account.

How long we keep it

Raw usage events are deleted within 180 days. Only aggregate statistics — counts and trends that can't identify you — are kept longer.

If you delete your account, any events still inside that window are de-identified: the link to your account is severed. You can also ask us to erase them outright at any time — just email support@livingscene.ai.

Turning it off

Usage analytics is on by default. To turn it off, open Settings, find Privacy, and switch off Share usage statistics.

The switch takes effect immediately: nothing is sent from that point on, and anything already collected but not yet sent is discarded rather than held.
